Online Travel Reports

This online travel reports article is about introducing you to some websites that are starting to go against the grain when it comes to online travel resources. In a sense, they are providing reports for online travel that make it much easier for you to get the travel deals you want.

Essentially, they are online travel search engines and they can help increase your odds of finding the best deals online.

This includes anything from airfares, hotels and rental car deals. Lets go ahead and review these sites so you can decide which online travel search engine is right for your needs.

SideStep: The Online Travel Oldie but Goodie
This is one of the oldest online travel search engines. They search over 200 Websites to find the best online deals. After you type in the search query, you get an online travel report so you can compare the best deals on the web.

Kayak: Online Travel for Simplicity
This online travel search engine really tries to focus on simplicity. They search 140 travel sites to find the most inexpensive fares available. They also allow you to compare the sites and filter or sort the sites. This is why they really do offer online travel reports in the sense that you can compare in a visual manner that will make it easier for you to decide on the best deal.

Mobissimo: Another Travel Engine
Mobissimo claims to be the most comprehensive travel search engine around. They offer another somewhat simplistic search engine, and they even have modules you can add or delete from the homepage, which gives you more control over the layout of the site. However, they were the only travel search engine that did not make it clear how many online travel websites they go to to pull their comparisons and reports.

The Online Travel Dilemma
It is now clear to you that there are a few options when it comes to travel search engines. The online reports they provide are all a little different, and ultimately it will come down to which one you prefer. It would probably be best to try all three using the same travel search query, and then make your decision based on the results you get.

One thing to be said of online travel search engines, is that they are not considered quite as flexible as the big three travel sites (Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz). This is because most of them do not allow for target direct flights, preferred airlines or travel packages which sometimes offer the best savings.

Also, travel search engines may not have a full range of options available for detailed views of the reports they provide. It is probably best at this point to use them in conjunction with the big 3 until they offer more options and flexibility.
